GFNY Punta Cana - one of the most important cycling events worldwide

GFNY cycling event will be held for the second time in Punta Cana. Participants will ride bikes leaving from Bluemall Puntacana, passing through the Eastern Cordillera and returning in Miches (both distances). On the way back, they will pass through the area of Anamuya and Macao. The route starts from the very heart of Punta Cana and has the options of long route, 150 kilometers and 973 meters of elevation or short route, 94 kilometers and 398 meters of elevation with partially closed and controlled traffic. 7th Dominican Gastronomic Forum 2021

The seventh Edition of the Dominican Gastronomic Forum: Safeguarding the Heritage of Dominican Flavor, organized by the Sabores Dominicanos Foundation, will be held online through the portal saboresdominicanos.org.do from March 13 to April 10, 2021. The forum is part of the activities of the international event in Italy, “Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020: Our food, our planet, our future”. The forum offers an inclusive research and analysis space, with an active integration of chefs, restaurant representatives, gastronomy experts, journalists, students and teachers from the hospitality, tourism and gastronomy areas of the main Dominican schools. La Vega Carnival Museum - the Dominican Republic

Another colorful exhibition opening an opportunity to experience the Dominican carnival without actually being present at the real event (which is not celebrated in 2021 due to the pandemic) is held at Agora Mall until March 14th. It is a good chance to observe unique carnival costumes and characters while shopping at the mall. The exhibits are located at different levels to ensure social distancing. La Vega Carnival reaches 125 years of history being commemorated with an exhibition of 20 costumes from 16 groups.

«Ciudad Colonial Viva» exhibition in the Dominican Republic

Although this year the Dominican Republic did not witness its traditional carnival, the months of February and March are filled up with cultural experiences and events that will satisfy all culture-lovers. Throughout March, the emblematic Saviñón Building will host the permanent exhibition “Ciudad Colonial Viva” to emphasize the importance of the Colonial City development for the Dominican economy, tourism, history and culture. The exhibition features graphic material telling the story of transformation, beautification, improvements in urban mobility and modernization of the facilities of the Colonial City. 1st National Carnival Exhibition in Puerto Plata, the DR

Not only the capital of the country hosts exhibitions and multidisciplinary events dedicated to the national carnival, but other major cities as well. Until March 14, do not miss the opportunity to visit the first National Carnival Exhibition in Puerto Plata, with costumes and characters from the carnival of the different provinces. Held at the Commerce Club in front of Plaza Independencia, it is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition is carried out according to the health protocols established by the Dominican Government, maintaining physical distance and with the mandatory use of face masks. The purpose of this exhibition is not to lose the tradition of carnival, which for decades is one of the Dominican cultural displays. The costumes are made of recycled materials.
